Cogmed Training

Cogmed is an evidence-based digital training program developed by cognitive neuroscientists at the Karolinska Institute. CogMed can be used with clients ages 4 and up. It is specifically designed to target and support working memory—the mental workspace responsible for retaining and processing information. Enhanced working memory may help improve focus and the ability to manage attention-related challenges, potentially making it easier to handle daily demands.

Potential Benefits of Cogmed Training:

  • Improvements in Working Memory Capacity – Research studies have shown that Cogmed may help improve working memory, which could enhance the ability to store and process information more effectively.

  • Enhancement in Attention and Focus – As working memory improves, there is potential for increased concentration, which may contribute to greater productivity and effectiveness in both personal and professional settings.

  • Support for Problem-Solving Skills – Improved working memory and processing abilities may help equip a person to handle complex tasks with more confidence and efficiency.

  • Potential for Lasting Effects – Research indicates that some benefits of Cogmed training may be maintained, and in some cases even improve, for up to 12 months, suggesting possible long-term enhancements in cognitive performance.

How does it work?

Through engaging and interactive exercises, Cogmed targets the key cognitive processes responsible for working memory and attention. The program automatically adapts to a client's unique needs and ability, ensuring continuous challenge and growth over time. Clients are guided through an individualized training program that features:

  • An Initial Intake – Clients complete an intake session to establish a baseline understanding of their presenting concerns and history. This session supports an individualized approach to training frequency, session length, and the program's overall goals.

  • Flexible Training Options – Clients can choose 25-50 minutes of training, 3-5 days per week, over a span of 5-13 weeks, allowing flexibility within the program’s structure.

  • Virtual Weekly Check-Ins – Each week, clients receive personalized feedback, support, and guidance from the NP, PLLC to help them stay engaged throughout the program.

  • Post-Training Follow-Up – A final evaluation and optional follow-up support are available to help clients integrate any potential improvements into their daily lives. To learn more, please reach out to schedule your free consultation today!
